What is Drop-off catering?
Drop-off catering is a service in which we prepare the menu you choose either for pick-up at no extra cost or brought directly to your location. The food arrives ready to serve, often in disposable trays or containers, so you can quickly set up and enjoy the meal with minimal effort. Setup may be available for those who want an extra simple, ready-to-enjoy experience. Main Street Markets offers various drop-off options depending on your event needs. Unlike full-service catering, drop-off catering does not include staff for serving or cleanup; it's designed to be flexible, budget-friendly, and ideal for casual gatherings, office meetings, and laid-back social events.
How does the food arrive and what is included?
Your order arrives fully prepared and ready to serve in parchment-lined foil trays. Our trained team and drivers deliver roughly 30 minutes before your event begins to complete a full setup of your buffet-style event. Items are displayed with serving utensils and menu labels, hot dishes are placed in disposable wire chafers with flame, and compostable plates, napkins, and cutlery are neatly arranged. Setup takes about 30 minutes, after which our staff packs up and returns to our kitchen.
Is the menu for drop-off catering the same as full-service catering?
Our Drop-off menu mirrors much of our Full Service menu, but it’s curated specifically for easy travel and quick setup. Each dish is tested for quality and presentation in a delivery setting, so while we aim to accommodate preferences and dietary restrictions, custom substitutions are generally only offered as a custom catering item at an additional cost.
How Far do you travel?
Delivery and full setup within 15 miles of our kitchen are available for a $200 fee. We can extend delivery up to 35 miles for an additional charge.
Can I pick up my order instead?
Yes! If you prefer to skip the delivery and setup fees, you’re welcome to pick up your order directly from our Rockland kitchen located at 435 Main Street, Rockland, ME 04841. Your food will be packaged in lined foil trays, boxed, and ready for transport.
Do you have an order minimum?
Pickup orders require a $400 minimum. For all Drop-off services, the minimum order is $750.
What if I want something that isn’t listed on the menu?
No problem! We love custom orders. Submit an inquiry with what you are looking for and allow us a few days to get back to you with an estimate. Try and provide as much detail as you can so we can deliver just what you’re looking for. Once you approve the estimate and pay a deposit, we will get to work on your order!
