May is in full swing, and fiddlehead season is nearing its end. Harvesting fiddleheads is one of the long-standing traditions of Maine, and though we are not open just yet, we could not miss this short, yet precious harvest season. We have been cleaning and processing fiddleheads all month, from Indian Island, where our favorite Penobscot forager, Kirk Fields has been out on his canoe with a team at sunrise daily handpicking beautiful, vibrant fiddleheads.
