In 1994 Jane and Gussie, two inspiring and determined ladies from Maine set out to produce the perfect cup of coffee and then was born Carpe Diem. Their small-batch organic coffee is unparalleled to any others out there.

Coffee is one of the most widely traded commodities in the world. Over 12 billion pounds of coffee are produced annually; a tall order to meet. With such a demand, farming methods have evolved to maximize production. This is often at the cost of the environment, the farmers, and the quality of the bean itself. Conventional coffee is one of the most heavily chemically treated foods in the world.
Organic coffee has been grown without using any pesticides, synthetic fertilizers and GMOs, and are free of toxic residues of the artificial fertilizers, pesticides, herbicides, artificial flavors or colors, or preservatives. Organically grown coffee is often grown with organic fertilizers, such as compost, and coffee grounds, and grown with the natural shade of the rainforest, protecting the wildlife and emitting less carbon than non-organic farms.
